When was the last time your A/C, Furnace, Fireplace, or Water Heater had a maintenance? How about your last oil change on your car, tire rotation, or windshield wiper change? If it’s been over a year, or you’re not sure of the last maintenance date, it might be time to schedule those services. Getting maintenance done on your HVAC equipment is the same as taking care of the maintenance of your car— when done properly and frequently enough you will have a better operating and hopefully longer lasting vehicle, and we want the same thing for your HVAC system.
There are many different benefits to getting a yearly maintenance done on your equipment, but the biggest reason I recommend maintenance is to maintain your warranty. Every manufacturer has a warranty plan, each appliance is different, but the warranty can range from 1 year to 10 years, and on special parts up to 20 years of warranty! That warranty length can be negated at any time if the manufacturer recommendations aren’t followed, and that usually includes requiring a yearly maintenance on the equipment.
Having a maintenance performed helps significantly in the ability to help catch problems before they arise. When done properly, a technician should take readings on how the parts and system are operating as a whole, and those numbers help the technician determine how well parts are working. Just like the system itself, most of the parts have certain parameters/specifications for how they should be operating, and what those readings should be. If we find one that is out of range or even close to it, you should be informed of this to go over options; sometimes you can wait, other times you should change it sooner to avoid an emergency from the system failing in some way.
Not only that, but if you need help to change your filter, we can do that for you as well. Sometimes you want to put on a new thermostat but don’t know how, we can help with that, too. If we are there for a maintenance you can ask us what type of thermostats would work with your system, and we can come back to install it after you purchase one. Thermostats can easily be purchased from a hardware store or even online, if you prefer.
A major focus of our maintenances is ensuring all of your questions are answered and that you feel fully informed about your equipment. We are not only there to check on the system, but also to address any of your concerns as well. It could be as simple as an alert or reminder on your thermostat that you’re unable to clear, or your programming isn’t functioning properly. We are here for you and your system!
